through allocation to Tencent and Sony
Today, FromSoftware, Inc. agreed to issue new shares of its stock by way of third-party allocation to Sixjoy Hong Kong Limited, a subsidiary of Tencent Holdings Limited, and Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc., a subsidiary of Sony Group Corporation. After issuance, the shareholding ratio will be Kadokawa Corporation with a 69.66% share, Sixjoy Hong Kong Limited with a 16.25% share, and Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc. with a 14.09% share.
Since entering the video game industry in 1994, our company has designed and developed games for over 20 years with a unique set of values and self-initiative. This will not change in any way going forward, not only for game design and development, but also in regard to our philosophy and independence in areas such as player communication and platform selection. In addition, the funding received will help us take an even more assertive stance towards investment into in-house game development. Cooperation with both companies will provide support on a technical level and expansion within the global market, allowing us to enrich our own organisation and deliver even higher quality games to many players.
