PRESS RELEASE

Tokyo, January 12, 2018 – BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Inc. and FromSoftware, Inc. are pleased to announce that their action role playing game, DARK SOULS REMASTERED, is getting a worldwide release in May 2018 for PlayStation®4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Windows®.

The game will be published by FromSoftware in Japan and by Bandai Namco Entertainment in the world outside Japan.

The game is the remastered version of the original Dark Souls which was released and highly acclaimed back in 2011. The game graphics are updated and optimized for the current generation consoles, and the online functions are enhanced for better gaming experience. Since this will be the franchise’s debut on Nintendo Switch, the companies are thrilled to bring the game to a wider audience.

For the PlayStation®4 owners in Japan, there will be a limited edition of the Dark Souls Trilogy Box set coming with all 3 games of the franchise and also various novelty items.

Remastered Version Features

While the remastered version still provides the players with the same level design as the original version, it introduces several changes to the game as follows.

Enhanced Online Gameplay

Up to 4 players could enjoy online sessions together on the original version. Now the remastered version can host up to 6 players thanks to the dedicated game server. The Password Matching function will also help the players to find and play together with their friends.

Graphics Optimization

The game graphics are updated and optimized for each console. Now the players are able to enjoy exploration and discovering as well as intense combat in the even more beautiful world of Dark Souls.

“ARTORIAS OF THE ABYSS” DLC Included

The remastered version comes with “ARTORIAS OF THE ABYSS” which was originally released as a separate DLC. Full of new adventures in the world of Oolacile are waiting for the players.
